Katja uses AI across her professional and personal life, driven by curiosity. In one project, the scientific research of Katja’s late father became the basis for creating a new dialogue with him, with AI acting as a sparring partner. For her, work matters when it offers something unexpected or evokes an emotional response, while ethical decisions remain a designer’s responsibility. Katja thinks making AI’s environmental footprint visible would probably change how AI is used, but points out that as long as it remains invisible, nothing changes. Her wish for the future is for AI to enable individuality rather than produce mainstream results.
